Educational Development
Jamie Clearfield is a PhD student in Social and Comparative Analysis in Education at the University of Pittsburgh. She has spent the past 4.5 years working in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda with various organizations focused on education, entrepreneurship, and HIV. Still involved with work overseas, Jamie currently works with the Kibera Girls Soccer Academy, a free community-based girls’ high school in the Kibera slums in Nairobi, Kenya, helping with programming development.
Jamie’s research interests lie in the intersection of health and education, particularly in the urban setting. She hopes to focus her research on understanding how education can impact urban development and health indicators, particularly for urban slums.
