The 2021 Modern Language Association (MLA) International Symposium "Being Hospitable: Languages and Cultures Across Borders" will be held in Glasgow, 17–19 June 2021.
Submissions of individual papers and panel and roundtable sessions are welcomed!
Submissions are due on 30 September 2020, and participants will be notified of the outcome of the selection process in December 2020. The conference will include the following session formats: Panel sessions composed of 3–5 individual presentations AND Roundtable conversations including 4–6 participants.
Proposals may address diverse historical periods, disciplines, texts, and practices that represent, interact with, and interrogate a wide range of models of thought. The conference languages will be English, French, and Spanish.
