Dr. McClure and Dr. Porter from IISE gave a keynote speech at the International Congress of Social Glocalization in Germany

Representing School of Education and IISE, Dr. Maureen McClure and Dr. Maureen Porter gave a lecture on the topic of “Local Meets Global: A Converging Conversation”. It was part of the keynote series presented at the International Congress on Social Glocalization on 19-21 September 2019. They did a performative piece dramatizing converging and diverging discourses about "local" and "global", discussing how ideas of a "generational neighborhood" and new metaphors of "solutions" could more constructively guide our thinking.

The Congress was held in the Catholic University of Applied Sciences NRW (KatHO) in Cologne, German, bringing together scholar-leaders from 23 different countries. With the theme of social glocalization, the Congress addressed the roles of higher education in a world with local and global changes, in concert with social work, health sciences & practical theology domains.
