After a whole year working online, the Pitt Homecoming event is also back on campus this fall. So is the Fireworks and Laser Show, which will be held this Saturday night, September 25, 2021 at 9 pm in front of the symbol of the university- the Cathedral of Learning.
Here are some facts of Pitt’s homecoming in the past: Pitt’s first homecoming was in 1928; alumni released 1,000 homing pigeons on the field preceding the tilt in 1947; a tradition of Pitt homecoming before the laser show was parades with floats made by a variety of student organization that circled Pitt Stadium during the Saturday football game.
