IISE fellows and alums are presenting at the "International digital conference on global approaches to peace work" !

The conference, held from 7 to 9 October 2020, is hosted and organized by missio international, the Catholic University of NRW, the Diocese of Aachen, Engagement Global, AGIOMONDO and Pax Christi. 

There is still the possibility for you to participate in this peace conference. Participation is completely free of charge and you have the possibility to attend only those parts of the conference that interest you, no matter if only one or several. Sessions are conducted in German and English. At each contribution, be it a workshop or a keynote speech, you will find a link.

The conference invites experts, practitioners, development workers, social workers, educators, teachers, researchers, and students, to discuss how we can actively counteract violent conflicts with courage, creativity and with huge commitment.

Dr. Maureen Porter, IISE Associate Director, is co-presenting with Prof. Dr. Norbert Frieters-Reermann (KatHO NRW), entitled Human rights and/or human needs – Grundlagen für eine Friedensvision in und nach Covid-19 (German)

Dr. Susan Dawkins and Carolina Forgit-Knerr (University of Pittsburgh) will be presenting their works on "Agents of peace? Migration management by state, humanitarian, community organizations, and mobile actors (English)

SoE and IISE alum, Dr. Mina Hogsett (Wake Tech Community College) and her collegues, Dr. Jen Ely (Executive Director MAPS, Cofounder In Stable Hands), David E.K. Smith and Angela Illig (University of Pittsburgh) will present "Holistic peace education in schools and communities" (English)
