As the final week approached, IISE hosted a pre-holiday gathering for the IISE management team, the visiting scholars and the in-building staff. The gathering was special with the presence of Xi Wang and Veysel in town. Both Xi and Veysel moved to other States early this year, and visited Pittsburgh last week. In IISE, families are also parts of the team. Joining the gathering were Sophia (Dr. Maureen Porter’s daughter), Benjamin (Anis’ baby son), Emirhan (Veysel’s baby boy), and Elif (Veysel’s wife, who just successfully defended her dissertation at Duquesne University. Congrats!!)
