Visiting Scholars Program Now Recognizes Language Certifications from English3 and Duolingo

 

IISE continues to support international visiting scholars through its Visiting Scholars Program. IISE currently hosts visiting scholars from all over the world. The updated changes in the language certification requirements are as follows:

  • A certification of English language proficiency of recognized English test such as TOEFL (minimum score of 80 with all sub scores in at least the intermediate or fair range) or IELTS (minimum score of 6.5)or English3 (minimum score of 2.5) or Duolingo (minimum score of 45) within 2 years; or signed documentation from an academic institution or English language school.
  • Acceptable documentation includes a transcript or diploma certifying completion of a degree at an institution where the sole language of instruction is English or official certification of completion of an English language program within the previous two years where proficiency attained is clearly indicated.
  • If above pieces of evidence are not available, an English language proficiency interview may be required as an option of IISE.
  • Applicants from a country whose official language is English will be exempted from this requirement.
