Lili Jia

Dr. Lili Jia works as an Assistant Professor in the Institute of Higher Education at Shanghai Lixin University of Commerce in China since 2008. She completed her Ph.D. in Higher Education from East China Normal University in 2008 and her master’s degree in Comparative and International Education from Beijing Normal University.

Her research focuses on quality assurance in higher education, the development of academic organizations, and comparative higher education, especially on professional accreditation in higher education. She has published several academic papers on these research fields and has completed a series of advisory reports for policymakers at her university.

Her doctoral dissertation has been nominated as the Best Doctoral Dissertation in Higher Education organized by Higher Education Academy of China (CAHE) in 2010, and the dissertation has been published in 2013. Additionally, she has been the leader of two national research projects on quality assurance in higher education sponsored by the Ministry of Education in China in 2010 and 2012.

She made an intensive study on professional accreditation in higher education between China and the United States as a visiting scholar in the Institute for International Studies in Education (IISE) at the University of Pittsburgh in 2015-2016. She attended two research projects led by the IISE Director, Prof. James Jacob. Her two academic papers on professional accreditation in China’s business education have been published during her visit in IISE.
