Ruixue Yuan is a third-year Ph.D. candidate at Renmin university of China. She is currently serving as a visiting research scholar at the Institute for International Studies in Education (IISE), University of Pittsburgh. Her faculty counterpart at the University of Pittsburgh is Prof. Najeeb Shafiq and her current research project is “Education Development for Developing Countries.”
YUAN received her master’s degree in public administration from China Agricultural University in 2014. Before this, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Northeastern University. Her research expertise is mathematical and statistical analysis of economic issues in education. She has learning and research experience in matching-theoretic analysis of college-enrollment systems in China, public expenditure structures on education and their relationship with economic growth. And she is working on her PhD dissertation in economics of human development, especially those early intervention projects in developing countries.
