Xiaoxia Yang

Dr. Xiaoxia Yang is an Associate Professor of the Elementary Education Department at Guangzhou University, China. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Economics and Administration from the Central China Normal University in 2013. Just prior to her appointment at the School of Education at Guangzhou University, Dr. Yang served as the Assistant Professor for Research in the Higher Education Research Institute of Guangzhou University. She has received funding for her research from the Ministry of Education of Humanities and Social Science Grant, and Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning Projects of Guangdong Province. Her publications have appeared in Education Research, Education and Economics, Exploring Education Development, and Research of Educational Development. She also wrote a book based on her research on writing tasks, which is titled The Study on the Integration of Benefits in the Reform Process of the Balanced Development of Compulsory Education. Dr. Yang studies educational finance and policy issues. Her studies focus on: (1) the equality policy of compulsory education; (2) privatization of public universities; and (3) the financial supporting system of compulsory education for the migrant children from rural to urban areas.
