Xuerong Zhang

Dr. Zhang Xuerong serves as a Professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunication in China. Her research focuses on Chinese modern education, the Westernization of education, the history of modern Chinese University, China’s modern social history of education, Chinese traditional education, and modern education issues. She has written two books on Chinese education: United States Influence and China’s University Reform 1915—1927 (2006), and Twelve Lectures on Chinese education (2008). She also edited the book The Famous Education Reader of Tao Xing-Zhi (2006) and wrote the chapter Freedom of Thought, and Magnanimity of Everything: The President of Peking University, Cai Yuanpei. In addition, she has published more than 30 professional papers.
