Yuxin Gao has been pursuing her Ph.D. degree in higher education at the Faculty of Education of Shaanxi Normal University since 2021. Yuxin completed her master’s degree at University College London and a bachelor's degree at the University of Liverpool in the UK.
With a vast interest in higher education research, she applied to become a visiting scholar under the supervision of Professor Maureen McClure at the Institute for International Studies in Education (IISE), University of Pittsburgh. Her current research project is “Internationalization at Home of U.S. Higher Education Institutions: A Case Study of a Public Research University.”
As a Ph.D. candidate, Yuxin mainly focuses on higher education management and policy, internationalization of higher education, comparative higher education, and faculty professional development in higher education institutions. She likes the openness, inclusiveness, and diversity of the University of Pittsburgh, and looks forward to exploring the world and sharing Chinese heritage and culture with people from different cultural backgrounds.
