Become A Volunteer

The Institute for International Studies in Education (IISE), in the School of Education at the University of Pittsburgh, needs volunteers to help send a little encouragement and hope to those who are socially isolated because of the coronavirus. Disease affects many more people than the patients themselves. We want to support all of those affected in one way or another, and who could use friendly hello in the form of “encouragement cards.”

  • We need people who are willing to share our cards with family and friends.
  • We need people who are willing to make their own e-cards to share.

Right now, we are focusing on the city of Wuhan and Hubei province for two reasons. First, Wuhan is a sister city of Pittsburgh. Second, we have many students from Wuhan and other parts of China. So many are separated from their family and friends, and worry about them every day. We want to help create a little hope by creating and sharing cards. There is a lot of need out there.

This way your encouragement messages can be widely shared.
