Dancing with LAGOS!

ISPN and the Latin American Graduate Organization of Students (LAGOS) welcomed all students to our relaxing Dance Event -Learning how to dance Salsa & Merengue on Friday, Dec 2, 2022, providing members with Panera coffee, and savory treats. Attendees included masters and doctoral students within and outside the School of Education, as well as visiting assistant professor Dr. Fernandez, Loretta, and ISPN members.

Doctoral student Jennifer Karen Ponce Cori who comes from Peru led the learning of Salsa steps. She made the complicated movements very easily and fun to follow. Every student became a Salsa dancer after just a couple of minutes. Carolina Dominguez, who comes from Dominica, was the instructor of Merengue dancing. “It’s all about waving your hips” she said, “just feel your body!” It turned out dancing is much simpler than many could imagine. You only need the right ones who teach you in the right way! Participants enjoyed the rest time with vibrant Latin music, dancing and laughing with each other.

ISPN hoped to support students with this relaxing event and loosen their stress a little bit during the final weeks of the fall semester. The team looks forward to hosting more joyful events and seeing everyone again in the new year!
