Kasihani Suyanto

Dr. Kasihani Suyanto was recently an Indonesian government-sponsored Visiting Scholar at IISE. She is a Professor at the Department of English Education at the University of Malang, where she has been teaching EFL/EYL Teaching Methodology, Applied Linguistics, Issues and Problems in Language Education, and Instructional Syllabus Design and Material Development. Dr. Suyanto holds a number of diplomas in the Teaching of English as a Second Language (TESL), among which are the TESL Diploma from Victoria University, New Zealand; Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Toronto, Canada; and Teaching English to Young Learners (TEYL) from the University of Leeds, UK. She has attended regional, national, and international seminars and presented papers on EFL/EYL methodology, curriculum development, and research findings. Dr. Suyanto has also been involved in developing materials for students of primary schools, junior high schools, and higher education institutions, and in various teacher training programs, including the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) In-service Training at the University of Washington in 2001 and 2002. Her research at IISE included the development of a book entitled Developing Reference Materials for EYL Teachers in Indonesia.
