Xinhong Wang

Dr. Xinhong Wang is an associate professor of Institute of Higher Education, School of Public Policy and Administration, Xi’an Jiaotong University. Her faculty counterpart at the University of Pittsburgh is Prof. Maureen Porter and her current research project is “The Effect of Gender Socialization, Engineering Culture, and Social Change on Chinese Engineering Woman Students and Early Engineers.”

She holds a bachelor degree in Engineering. Prior to join academia, she worked as a professional engineer in industry for more than ten years. She got her Master in Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Ph.D. degree in Xi’an Jiaotong University. Her research interests include education administration and public policy, gender in STEM education and professional path, Triple Helix. She has worked as PI and Co-PI for a series of projects funded by National Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Ministry of Education of China, local government, and international institutes (EU-China). She published more than 30 Chinese and English papers. She was a visiting scholar at Chinese University of Hong Kong (January 2007). University of Pittsburgh (Dec2010-Dec2011, Feb2017-Feb2018), and University of Tampere in Finland (July to August 2015).
