Alum Huiyuan Ye Appointed Associate Editor for the IAFOR

IISE and Pitt Higher Education Management Ed.D. alum, Dr. Huiyuan Ye (class of 2018) was recently appointed Associate Editor for the IAFOR Journal of Education issue on “Education and the Liberal Arts,” which will be published in 2021. The International Academic Forum (IAFOR) is a prestigious think tank housed at Osaka University in Japan.

This appointment is a great match and accomplishment in Huiyuan's career as a scholar. His research focuses mainly on issues surrounding liberal arts education in higher education institutions, as reflected in his dissertation entitled, “Analyzing Disruptive Innovation in Contemporary U.S. Liberal Arts Higher Education Institutions,” which explores conceptual awareness and models of disruptive innovation in over 200 institutions in the United States.

From 2012 to 2017, Huiyuan served as an IISE Senior Program Coordinator. Before coming to Pitt, Huiyuan obtained a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature from Shanghai International Studies University, China. His research interests include higher education institutional transformation, liberal arts higher education institutions, disruptive innovation, faculty professional development, and indigenous education.
